This Privacy Policy explains how Jacks Method, LLC, doing business as Old Ink Records ("Old Ink Records," "Bright Anomaly," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you visit brightanomaly.com, sign up for our emails, or buy from our store. We collect only what we need, and we never sell your personal information.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us:

• Purchases: your name, email address, and billing details. Payment card information is entered directly with Stripe or PayPal. We never see or store your full card number.

• Email signups: your first name and email address when you download our free Overstimulation Spiral Field Guide or join a waitlist.

• Marketing consent: whether you checked the box at checkout to receive marketing emails.

• Messages: anything you send us when you contact us.

Information collected automatically: when you visit the Site, our website platform may collect basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and referring website, using cookies and similar technologies. We use this to keep the Site working, secure, and improving.

Email engagement: our email platform may record whether you open our emails and click links in them, so we can understand what's helpful and send less of what isn't.

3. Marketing emails

We only send marketing emails to people who choose to receive them. You can opt in by:

• Checking the box at checkout that says you'd like to receive emails from Bright Anomaly. The box is never checked for you.

• Signing up for our free field guide or a waitlist, where we tell you that you'll also receive emails from us.

Our marketing emails may include gentle notes, free tools, new episodes, product announcements, and occasional offers or discount codes.

You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any marketing email, or by emailing hello@brightanomaly.com. Unsubscribing won't affect emails about a purchase you've made, such as your download link.

Every marketing email we send includes our mailing address and a working unsubscribe link, as required by the US CAN-SPAM Act.

4. How we share your information

We share personal information only with service providers who help us run Bright Anomaly, and only as needed for them to do so:

• Hostinger: hosts our website and online store, and provides our email platform (Hostinger Reach)

• Stripe and PayPal: process payments securely

These providers may only use your information to provide services to us. We may also disclose information when required by law, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

5. Cookies

Our website platform uses cookies that are needed for the Site and checkout to work, and may use cookies for basic analytics. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the Site, like checkout, may not work properly without them.

Do Not Track signals: some browsers send "Do Not Track" signals. Because there's no common industry standard for how to respond to them, the Site doesn't currently change its behavior when it receives one. We don't track you across other websites, and we don't sell or share your personal information.

6. How long we keep your information

• Order records: as long as required for tax and accounting purposes

• Email list information: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it

• Messages: as long as needed to help you, then deleted when no longer needed

7. How we protect your information

We use reputable service providers with industry-standard security, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and secure payment processing. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

9. International visitors

Bright Anomaly is based in the United States, and our service providers may store information in the United States or other countries. By using the Site, you understand that your information may be processed outside your home country, where privacy laws may differ.

10. Children

The Site and our products are not directed to children under 13, or under 16 in the EU and UK, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we'll delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll post the updated version on this page with a new effective date.
